Quick Relief for Tax Season Stress

MONTGOMERY—Feb. 1, 2008—The Alabama Society of CPAs, Regions Bank and WSFA will sponsor a live Tax Hotline on Tuesday, Feb. 12, from 5 - 7 p.m. The hotline is a public service for residents within the broadcast area of WSFA 12 and provides answers to simple tax questions. 

The phone lines will be manned by members of the Montgomery Chapter of the Alabama Society of CPAs, all licensed certified public accountants with tax expertise, as a community service of the chapter. They will be in the studios of WSFA for two hours and answer as many calls as possible in that time.

“Tax time is very stressful for a lot of folks and we hope to make it less so. We enjoy the chance to help members of the tri-county area who may not have a CPA,” said Billy Merrill, president of the ASCPA Montgomery Chapter.
