Thomas A. Broughton III President and CEO ServisFirst Bank

Birmingham veteran banker Thomas A. Broughton III had a vision to establish a bank that combined the most sophisticated banking resources with the industries top service-driven, experienced bankers. After all, many of the local banking providers were lacking this very simple combination. The "Big Banks" had the resources but often failed to obtain the top-notch staff, while the smaller "Community Banks" staff could offer the personal attention clients desired but would often lack the latest sophisticated product offerings. He saw a need in the banking industry and found a way to meet it. The need was met by what better name than ServisFirst Bank.

Led by Tom Broughton, President and CEO, ServisFirst Bank opened its doors for business May 2, 2005. With $35 million raised in opening capital, ServisFirst Bank set the record for highest capital ever raised by a start-up bank in the State of Alabama. Setting this record was just the beginning to the Bank’s promising future.

Growth in assets has continued consistently and rapidly for the Bank which reached over $500 million in assets within 18 months of its opening date. Also, according to a report released by the investment banking firm Donnelly Penman & Partners, ServisFirst Bank was named "The Largest and Fastest Growing New Chartered Bank in the U.S." in 2005

Not only has the Bank grown in assets, it has also grown in locations and is active in three Alabama markets. Locations are currently located in Birmingham, Huntsville, Montgomery and Dothan with plans to expand throughout the Southeast.
