Headland, AL - Henry County businessman and CPA Jody Singleton today officially qualified with the Republican Party to run for Alabama House of Representatives District 85.
“Today I reaffirm my pledge to the citizens of Henry and Houston counties. If elected, I will do my best to faithfully and ethically represent all of the people and all of the communities that make up District 85. I am committed to finding common ground and partnering with all those who are willing to work together to build a better tomorrow for ourselves, our children, and our grandchildren,” announced Singleton.
“Amy and I have been very encouraged by the support we have received since this campaign began,” said Singleton. “It has been wonderful meeting individuals from all corners of Henry and Houston counties, but it has also been a sobering experience. Our state and our communities are facing significant challenges. We must work hard to create more jobs, get more value from our tax dollars, and ensure that our children get the best education we can provide,” stated Singleton.
Singleton is a certified public accountant (CPA) and managing member of Avinna, an affiliation of CPAs across the Southeast that share knowledge and resources to serve their clients in an effective and cost efficient manner. Avinna specializes in accounting and tax solutions for individuals and small businesses. Prior to founding Avinna, he was CFO at SunSouth, one of the largest conglomerations of John Deere dealerships in the country. Singleton is a Councilman for the City of Headland and past-president of the Headland Kiwanis Club. Jody is a former member of the Wallace College Foundation and served as the Chairperson for the Business/Industry Education Certification team for Headland High School.
Jody is married to Amy, his wife of seventeen years. They have three children: Hunter, Caroline, and Caitlin. Together the family attends Headland First Baptist Church where Jody is a Sunday School teacher.
