CPA Ambassador Training

The CPA Ambassador Program aims to focus attention on the untold story and value of our profession, one community at a time. Our goal is simple: to engage the talents of CPAs to help earn the good men and women of this profession their due.

Support tools include prepared speeches, talking points, guidance on handling tough media questions, and briefings on related issues that dominate today's headlines. CPAs will also have the opportunity to emphasize the CPA profession’s commitment to battling fraud, improving auditing standards and quality, and shoring up small businesses that represent the main economic engine of this country.

Best and Brightest Student Recruitment Campaign

The Young CPAs have made this campaign their own, although members of any age are invited to join in the recruitment effort. The ASCPA office coordinates speakers for high schools and colleges, accounting clubs and career fairs in order to spread the word about accounting as a career. There are materials, PowerPoint presentations, and promotional items available for sharing with interested students. Contact the Communications Director for resources if you are asked to make a presentation.

Tax Hotline

Each February the Alabama Society of CPAs sponsors two annual Tax Hotlines as a community service. In Montgomery, the ASCPA partners with Regions Bank and WSFA, while in Birmingham the hotline is a joint venture with WIAT Channel 42.

The hotlines are manned by Society members and are designed to answer simple tax questions. More than 550 calls were fielded in 2007.
