MONTGOMERY—August 20, 2008—The Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants recently celebrated the groundbreaking of its new office. The office will be located at 1041 Longfield Court in the Halcyon Summit office park and will be approximately 9,500 square feet. The new facility will house the ASCPA’s 10-person staff and provide training space for 100 participants. The space will be used for in-house continuing professional education for ASCPA members. The project is expected to be complete in May 2009.
“Our South Perry Street building has served the Society members and staff very well,” said ASCPA President and CEO Jeannine P. Birmingham, CPA. “The new ASCPA building will allow the staff and volunteers to continue to add new programs and services for ASCPA members and the community.”
The Alabama Society of CPAs has been in its current location since 1975 and is located at 1103 S. Perry St., directly across from the Governor’s Mansion.
The Alabama Society of Certified Public Accountants (ASCPA) is the statewide, professional membership organization representing over 6,600 Alabama CPAs in public practice, industry, government and education. CPAs are business and financial professionals who have passed an examination in order to be licensed by the state. CPAs are committed to protecting the public interest, and must adhere to stringent ethical and professional standards and continuing professional education requirements.
