The ASCPA and Financial Literacy
Many ASCPA members are committed to promoting financial literacy by helping individuals understand their personal finances and develop money management skills. The ASCPA proudly supports a variety of financial education efforts that provide Alabama communities with increased financial knowledge and resources.
Our most visible public service, TV stations throughout the state partner with Society members for live phone banks each February. Areas participating include Montgomery, Mobile, Birmingham and Huntsville.
Dollar$ and Sense, Classroom Blitz
The Alabama Young CPAs partner with the AL Dept of Education to bring the message of financial education coupled with a heightened awareness of accounting careers. This high school program pairs schools and YCPA volunteers on a single day each November. Each year over thousands of high school students are reached at high schools throughout the state.
Alpha Kappa Alpha partnership
ASCPA member Brenda Adams initiated this program to bring financial education to every school in the Fairfield, AL school system.

A website of fun tools, a quiz, and tons of tips and other resources. Think through your spending and saving habits identify ways you can start saving and commit to making changes that will reduce your debt and grow your savings.
