Tuesday evening following her State of the State address, Governor Kay Ivey immediately called the Alabama legislature into special session to deal directly with Alabama’s infrastructure. Legislative leaders from both parties released the Rebuild Alabama Plan, a thoughtful long-term solution to improve transportation infrastructure throughout Alabama. Every city, county and region in Alabama will greatly benefit from this plan.
Now, every voice is needed immediately to help resolve the deteriorating conditions of our roads and bridges. The issues have been studied and debated intensely over the last four years. If we fail to act now, we will miss this unique chance, and Alabama will fall even further behind. It is time for action.
Through the website of Alliance for Alabama’s Infrastructure, https://www.alabamaroads.org, it is very easy for you to locate and contact your legislator. There is suggested email and telephone language detailing specific, local examples of infrastructure that needs to be improved. This Link is a helpful resource to locate and contact your legislator.
Please engage now in every way possible to ensure that Rebuild Alabama is successful. Please share this message with your constituents and please contact your legislators today. With your support, Alabama will be successful at addressing the deteriorating condition of our roads and bridges.
